        On November 8th, Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Ding Kuiling stated that Shanghai Jiao Tong University has a profound cultural heritage and a long tradition of education. In the future, the school will continue to make efforts to align with the national strategic deployment direction, further strengthen the source of scientific and technological innovation, cultivate major original achievements, fully mobilize the strength and enthusiasm of all parties, and strive to make significant breakthroughs in basic cutting-edge science, common key technologies, cutting-edge leading technologies, modern engineering technologies, disruptive technological innovation, and other aspects.

        Xi Lifeng reported on the overall situation and latest scientific research progress of the school's scientific research construction. Over the years, the school has made outstanding contributions to the country's scientific and technological progress and development in areas such as technological innovation and talent cultivation.         Lin Zhongqin made a work report on the construction of major national infrastructure for the "big ocean".
